Anne Silver ist eine amerikanische Fotografin/Schritstellerin die in Paris lebt. Bevor sie nach Paris zog und vollzeit als Künstlerin arbeitete verdiente sie in Amerika ihr Geld lange Zeit als Psychotherapeutin. Ihre Kunst ist beeinflusst durch präraffaelite Maler, ihre Liebe zur Natur, ihre Träumen und viele andere wunderbare Künstler/Photographen die Sofortbildfilme nutzen um Magie zu erzeugen. Hierzu gehören zum Beispiel Penny Felts, Sarah Robinson, Polly Chandler, Lilian Wildeboer und Amanda Mason.
Die Serie zeigt Annes Vorliebe für Fotos mit weiblichen Hauptpersonen. In ihren Arbeiten fühlt sich Anne immer zu romantischen, melancholischen und sinnlichen Bildern hingezogen, diese scheinen außerhalb der normalen Zeit zu existieren. Sie liebt Bilder von denen man nicht genau sagen kann wann sie aufgenommen wurden. Anne it begeistert davon, wie abgelaufene Polaroidfilme auf Licht reagieren und damit eine Stimmung erzeugen die fast schon etwas spirituelles hat.
Anne ist fortlaufend fasziniert von der Soforbildfotografie, der Handwerkskunst dahinter, der Filmchemie und natürlich der Tatsache dass das Foto ohne eine Dunkelkammer direkt vor den Augen entsteht. Diese Magie kann durch keine andere Art der Fotografie erzeugt werden.

About Anne:
Anne Silver is an American writer/photographer living in Paris, France. Before moving to Paris and becoming an artist full-time, she worked for many years as a psychotherapist in the United States. Her art is influenced by the Pre-Raphaeilte painters, by her love of nature, by her dreams, and by a host of amazing artists/photographers who use instant films to make magic, including Penny Felts, Sarah Robinson, Polly Chandler, Lilian Wildeboer, and Amanda Mason.
This series represents Anne’s preferences for photos with female subjects. In her work, Anne is drawn to make photos that are at turns romantic, melancholy, and sensual, photos that seem to exist outside of time. She likes to make photos that are difficult to place in terms of when they might have been taken. Anne loves how instant films, especially the expired Polaroid films, respond to changing light, and seeks to create a mood that is ethereal.
Anne is continually mystified by instant photography, the engineering behind it, the chemistry of the films, the fact that a photo develops practically before our eyes without the need for a dark room. The process holds a magic that cannot be attained by other kinds of photography. Anne recently acquired a Polaroid 110A camera that was converted to take pack film, and this has become her favorite camera. She is trying to build up a cache of type 100 films while they are still available.
When she is not shooting instant film, Anne enjoys spending time in nature, vegetarian cooking, and creating props to use in her photos shoots.
